Art Trade - Roll/Kyaiso.EXE in the Kyainet by Kathalia Art Trade - Roll/Kyaiso.EXE in the Kyainet by Kathalia
My half on an art trade with :iconsonicinterface: featuring one of their creations, the Kyaiso. You can read the story about it here: Welcome to Kyainet"Kyai-kyai!  Hi there!  Welcome to Kyainet.  I'm a virtual creature called a Kyaiso, and I'll be your guide.  I can tell just by looking at you that we'll get along just fine, kyai-kyai!"

The adorable little creature that'd popped onto my computer screen soon after I'd installed the Kyainet software wasted no time in capturing my heart.  It looked like a little fox, cobalt blue in color, but it had a pouch on its belly like a kangaroo, as well as a spiraling white horn on its forehead like a unicorn, and its tail ended in a round white bulb that seemed to emit light.  It hovered in the air through seemingly no means of its own.

I guess I go

The Kyaiso is a sort of advanced virtual avatar/AI, so using Roll.EXE from the Megaman Battle Network as the base character seemed to resonate. Its always interesting to draw original creatures like this and see what comes of it!

:iconsonicinterface:'s half of the trade is based off of one of my older pictures and can be found here:

This Song Stinks -Trade-From opposite sides of the stage, Stella and Xavier glared at one another as their hands flew across their electric guitars.  The rock-and-roll battle was in its final five minutes, and neither contestant showed any signs of surrendering.

Intense music filled the air, much to the audience's delight.  Occasionally one or the other would pull off a dazzling flourish for extra attention.

Finally, the music came to an end, with Xavier and Stella both finishing with style.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the announcer's voice rang out, "the battle is over!  It's time to announce the winner!  The champion of today's Battle of Rock is..."

A hush envelop

Hope you like it!

Wish Capcom would have branded the .EXE series differently. I loved the games but almost all my friends hated them becuse of old Megaman fanboyism... oh well, seeing Roll.EXE TFed is refreshing.

Yeah, I know that they aren't as popular as some of the other games in the MM series, but it seemed appropriate to use Roll for this pic.

This is probably not what Mayl expected when she heard that Kyainet was fully compatible with Navis.

Nice job. Your interpretation of the Kyaiso is a little different than how I imagined it, but I suppose that's to be expected when your only reference is textual. The simplistic gradient background is actually appropriate, too.

Yeah, Mayl would certainly be surprised when she logged in. Making the transition from text to image is always an interesting challenge, but the results are often interesting.

You also mentioned it was interesting working with original creatures. I've actually got quite a few more of those, too.

Yes, I've noticed a few of them in some of your stories. Some creative ones in there!
